Every year, Couleur Café puts local talent in the spotlights. #CoulCaf18 promises to become a true celebration of the vibrant Belgian music scene. From upcoming talent to big stars, over our very own hip hop project Niveau4 through a panoply of excellent DJ-sets; Belgians do it better.
We start off on Friday, when RnB sensation TheColorGrey opens this 29th edition on our Blue Stage, while pop star Angèle inaugurates the Red Stage, followed by the heavyweight of Belgian rap music, Damso. On the Green Stage, the divine jazz and soul voices of Melanie de Biasio and Selah Sue will undoubtedly touch many hearts.
We can hardly wait for Saturday, with swinging shows by blackwave. and Témé Tan on the Red and Green Stages. De Palenque à Matongé will turn the Blue stage into a tropical party, directly followed by the feisty girl duo Juicy. Later in the evening the long-awaited third edition of our hip hop project Niveau4 will finally be on stage. This year Moka Boka, Jay MNG, Brihang, Blu Samu, Nixon, Soul'Art, Junior Goodfellaz and DJ Vega are the Flemish, Brussels and Walloon talents who'll make this another unforgettable moment. We end the night with the youngest artist on our bill, turntable prodigy AliA.
Finally, the merry Chicos y Mendez will open the Blue Stage on Sunday, soon after we 'll pay tribute to our nation's rap queen, Coely, on the Red Stage. On to the Blue Stage, where the Laeken collective Le 77 will get the party started, somewhat later on the Green Stage the STIKSTOF street poets will represent the capital. To top this Belgian revelry off, we've scheduled the outstanding rap crew L'Or Du Commun.
Still didn't get enough? Go check out one of the 39 DJs, crews and collectives at the Mamafoufou, Dub Forest, Secret bar and Red Bull Elektropedia Black Stage, where two new DJs got added after a call for talent from our friends at vi.be. Multitalent JazzDee joins Frontal on Saturday while rising top producer Beatsforbeaches joins Bloom Hill on Sunday.
