Just like Friday, yesterday was one big hit; lovely temperatures in a beautiful scenery. The Rue du Bien Manger, Dub Forest and RBE Black Stage were packed, enchanting brass bands and awe-inspiring performances got the park moving, young and old were playing in the Kermesse and the Secret Bar was yet again home to many sweaty parties.
But we had some music too; Residente, El Caribefunk, Témé Tan, the Mamafoufou-DJ's and De Palenque à Matongé brought some Latin heat to Laeken. Blackwave. opened a packed Red Stage, Leon Bridges enchanted the Green Stage, Juicy was a stunner, Chronixx brought us reggae like it was supposed to sound and Niveau4 told us something we've known for years: Belgian hip hop is alive and kicking. It was with great pride we got to witness the very last Belgian concert of George Clinton: funk history!
It goes without saying we're not mentioning countless other excellent concerts but we prefer to look ahead; we can't wait to get this Sunday started. Couleur Café has found its new home and everyone clearly feels welcome. There are still a limited number of tickets available (with Young Thug, Ziggy Marley, Coely, Fatoumata Diawara, Masego and many others).
You want to join the party today? Buy a 1 Day ticket on our website for €42 or pay €55 at the doors.
